What Is Home Care?
Home care provides hands-on, paraprofessional assistance with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, eating, mobility — delivered in the client's own home. Our certified caregivers are trained, screened, and matched to each client's individual needs and schedule.
Carolinas Home Care Agency has been providing personal care services since 1994, serving adults and children with disabilities across Columbus, Robeson, Bladen, and Scotland Counties.
Home Care Services
In Home Care for Adults (IHCA)
IHCA includes a range of hands-on human assistance for recipients age 21 or older who, due to a physical disability, cognitive impairment, or chronic medical condition, are unable to accomplish tasks they would ordinarily perform for themselves. Covered services include supplemental assistance by a paraprofessional aide with Activities of Daily Living — eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility. All services are provided in the recipient's home.

In Home Care for Children (IHCC)

Personal Care Services
Support, supervision, and engaging participation with bathing, eating, dressing, personal hygiene, and other activities of daily living. Encourages participants to maintain skills gained during active treatment or habilitation while providing supervision for independent activities. Also includes assistance with monitoring health status and physical condition, transferring, ambulation, and the use of special mobility devices.

Respite Care
Respite care provides periodic relief for the family or primary caregiver of an individual with a disability. This service may be provided in the individual's home or in an out-of-home setting approved by Medicaid. A maximum of 576 hours is allowed annually. Respite is essential for preventing caregiver burnout and maintaining the family unit.

Assists with activities of daily living and personal care while providing habilitation and skill building for greater independence. Supports the consumer in increasing community living skills such as shopping, recreation, personal banking, and grocery shopping. Provides a bridge between home-based care and full community participation.
